What does command _set memory threshold critical/high/low do? For what is this threshold used? P.S. (for them who dont know): to show hidden commands type "_reveal commands" and then type "?".

ram for hyper arc

after flashing a hyper arc to a much newer code, it only shows 64M of ram installed. does anyone know the specs for what kind of ram I would use to get it to 128M? I probably knew this several years ago, but its long forgotten.

Adam, I have found similar characteristics when the CAT 5 gives out, except that it usually reports Remote out of service. Occasionally, some of them report loos and the other roos. LOOS problems 2 modems at a time can indicate a bad DSP. Check the knowledgebase for more information on bad DSP detection. Modems usually fail in pairs. HiperDSPs and Local Out of Service issue

I believe you can create as many IP pools as you need. I've done setups with several of them. I've never had them assigned according to DSP card, but if that doesn't matter, then just set up a separate IP pool for each group of consecutive addresses you want to make available. Setting up per-DSP Pools

Hello, Can anyone tell me how to setup per-DSP pools on a HiperArc system? IE, I have 14 HiperDSP's and two HiperARCs in a chasis, and I want to setup 14 IP pools of 24 ips, rather than make two large pools of 7*24. I don't even care if a DSP's gets IPs from multiple pools, as long as the end result is that I don't have to assign 168 consecutive IPs for my HiperArc pools. The 168 IPs aren't the problem, it's the *consecutive* that's the problem.

I've had wierd things happen like that, apparently because some settings were previously saved in the NMC and no matter what you change, the nmc changes them back. Reset your NMC back to factory defaults (config->actions/commands->software then "restore chassis from default", "restore nmc from default", and finally "save chassis to nvram"). That won't remove your IP or anything from the NMC, but once that's done, and you reboot the nmc, you may be able to get your dsp to hold it's settings. I don't claim to know how or why this works, but it has in the past for me. I had a hiper arc that kept setting up it's own ip address and other settings even after a "delete config" command. Doing the above to the NMC fixed the problem. Hope that helps.
