We are experiencing a problem with modems on Macintoshes. The Source-t folks with the help of 3COM (or whoever they are now) are telling us there are issues with Macs where they over optimisticly negotiate a connection speed then when the line can't support that rate the client drops. Is there a way to configure my HiperDSP's to be more conservative when negotiating a connection speed? Regards Doug P

check your MTU setting - make sure your Radius server isn't sending anything like "Framed-MTU", or if it is, make sure that it's set to 1500. TCS levels and older hardware...

Just have a question regarding TCS levels vs. older hardware. I'm sorting through a whole mess of different versions and configurations at different sites and would like to try to get software levels stabilized, standardized, something :-) All of the configurations I'm dealing with have quad modems in the picture, but looking at the TCS matrix I see that the last place that quads appear in the matrix is at TCS 4.0. Does this mean that I have to freeze everything (NMC, Netserver, Quads, etc) at TCS 4.0... or can I upgrade the cards that have newer levels to the newest stuff, and leave the quads at the latest (TCS4.0) code and everything will still work just peachy (yeah right :-). Remove DSP Password

To remove the password from your DSP's - in Total Control Manager - 1. Select the whole DSP card 2. Configure -> Actions/Command -> Software -> Restore UI Password from Default 3. Not sure if necessary, but then I'd do a "Save T1/E1 Modems to NVRAM" and reset the card. your password should be cleared.

Guys, OK, I know I'm always the first to complain when someone other than Steve or Shannan posts stuff for sale on this list. And even though I sell some hardware myself, I don't think I've ever posted anything here about it. But here's the deal: I've got a customer that I've worked with for a long time that is getting out of the ISP business and he asked me to help him get rid of his Total Control chassises. I don't want to take anything away from Steve or Shannan, but we need to sell these units, so if you're at all interested, please email me off-list and we'll work something out. My customer wants to get $2500 out of these units, but really we've got several of these, about 10 of them, so just make me a reasonable offer. Here's what they are: 336-port Total Control Chassis, V.92-ready (1) Hiper NMC (2) Hiper ARC's with 128 MB (14) Hiper DSP's (2) 130amp AC Power Supplies $2500/OBO each All of these units have been tested and are in good, working condition. MultiSpan Question, E1 bundle available

Has anyone had a situation with the MultiSpan card set as follows: When the chassis has multiple 24 port DSP cards installed in the chassis next to the MultiSpan it wont boot consistently. However when I run it by itself in the chassis with the Hiper NMC it boots fine. Can there be a conflict between DSP codes that would prevent the MultiSpan from booting correctly? TCM 8.2.6 Can't Save Configurations

Has anyone else had this problem (and hopefully a solution)... sat down at a client's workstation to do some maintenance on their chassis, and being the good boy that I am went to do a backup of their configuration first. In the file menu I see "restore configuration", "save cfm (greyed)", "restore cfm (greyed)", "save nvram" and "restore nvram". Saved the NVRAM no problem, by why is the "save configuration" menu item missing and the cfm options greyed out? I ended up firing up my notebook with an old copy of TCM 5.5.1 on it and saving the configuration with that. Is 8.2.6 buggy in that respect, or is there just something misconfigured (not like backing up is important or anything :-) ? They had the installer on disk so I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, still same problem. Thanks, >>>>> Mike <<<<<
