Fellow Music Educators,
1-We are again assembling a Utah School Music Teachers Directory. We have already made approximately 75 additions/corrections from last year's directory. We have sent
the draft to all district arts coordinators, but we are still missing some corrections. Please take a few moments to scan your information (and that of your district) in the attached draft document and let us know of any further corrections. Our target date
for completion is October 1st. A PDF copy of the directory will be emailed to all UMEA members as well as district arts coordinators at that time. Please rest assured that we do not distribute the directory for commercial use. (corrections to: donald_peterson@byu.edu)
2-We are in the process of building a redesigned website for the UMEA--as is mentioned in the fall UMEA journal. The vice presidents are working hard to make sure they
provide needed information for all of their constituents--as you'll see in early October when it goes live. Both our website
www.umea.us and the national
http://www.nafme.org websites should both serve as valuable resources
for your teaching.
3-Attached is a flyer for the
Utah Horn Club, a free resource for all horn players in Utah.
4-We have also received an email from the New York State School Music Association regarding inquiries that they have received from Utah music teachers who wish to use the manuals for repertoire reference. The links below will give you
