Dear Friends of the T’ang Studies Society,
In these challenging times, I want to begin this message with my hope that you and your loved ones are enduring this crisis as safely and as well as possible.
Although the safety of our friends in this crisis is uppermost in our minds, we are trying to continue with the scholarly work to which we are all committed. I am writing this message to announce a date for the T’ang Studies Society’s Annual Membership Meeting and to encourage you to participate in it.
As you all know, we followed the lead of AAS in cancelling the scheduled TSS annual meeting last month. Nevertheless, the Bylaws of the Society require us to hold an annual membership meeting to conduct the ongoing work of the Society. Since we do not know when restrictions on travel and large-scale meetings will be lifted, the Society’s Board of Directors has decided this year to hold a virtual Annual Membership Meeting instead. Here are the details of the meeting:

Format: Online Webinar
In the next week or so, I will be sending out instructions for how to log into the meeting. The meeting agenda, as is usual, will emphasize reports on the various activities of the Society and announcements of recent developments and future initiatives. There will also be functionality to allow for questions from, and comment by, attendees.
I realize that without our traditional reception, this will not be as convivial as we have come to expect TSS meetings to be, but please do put this event on your calendars. We will return to the traditional reception meeting approach as soon as possible.
