I am writing to remind you that the deadlines for the Society’s various grant programs are approaching. The Board of Directors and I hope that you and your graduate students will take advantage of the opportunities these grants represent to further research in the area of Tang Studies.

Since only current members of the Society are eligible to receive grants, perhaps this is also a good time to remind those of you who have not yet had a chance to renew your membership for 2014 to do so now. As you know, membership has other rewards besides the Society’s grant programs. All members receive the journal Tang Studies as well as online access to the full run of its back issues.

MEDIEVAL CHINESE LITERATURE (SIX DYNASTIES THROUGH SONG)
DEPARTMENT OF EAST ASIAN STUDIES

The Department of East Asian Studies at Princeton University invites applications for an open-ranked (senior or junior) position in Medieval Chinese Literature (Six Dynasties through Song). The successful candidate should have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and research. Ph.D. must be in hand or expected by September 1, 2015.
For full consideration, please provide a cover letter, curriculum vitae, and a writing sample (e.g., a dissertation chapter). Junior applicants should also solicit three letters of recommendation. Recommenders should mail their letters directly to Medieval Chinese Literature Search Committee, Department of East Asian Studies, Princeton University, 211 Jones Hall, Princeton, NJ 08544. Senior applicants should not submit letters of reference at this time.
