Negotiations for 2019 2020 Fiscal Year Feedback Response
Good Evening Member's, The following items were suggested for Negotiations for the 2019 - 2020 Fiscal year. We will list all items that were brought up and also indicate if they will be presented, and if NOT why they wont be. We will also leave the suggestion period open until the 28th of February. If you have something you want brought up that you don't see listed in this email; please respond no later then 10 PM on February 28th. The Following items are appropriate for Negotiations. No Insurance Increase Professional Development Provisional status of new employees or employees promoted and already career status need not be extended beyond 1 year. - If you have questions ask. Ability to Cash out Vacation, Even if its just one time. Let the District Administration set the criteria if need be. The following items will NOT be included in negotiations. We will also give the reason why Offer all Maintenance Flex Days - The concern here is if we bring it up, everybody may loose it. The individuals who have it are fortunate to still have it. More steps to people on their top step - Employees who are on their top step of their lane already get a stipend every year after being on it for 1+ year. Thus, this not needed. Start a conversation about hiring a few new employees to replace the ones we lost 5-6 years ago say 1 for each trade at the shops - The district has a defined number of contract positions. Those positions are already filled. This is possible to bring up by other conversations but not negotiations this year. Maybe next year. Drug testing across the board meaning for all employees. - This is a conversation that is brought up almost every month. The presidency is very well aware of our concerns and brings this up at every available avenue. Again if you want something brought up for Negotiations that you don't see in this list, please respond before February 28th by 10 PM. Thank you.
