Negotiation's for 2021-2022

Good Afternoon Members, It is that time of year again where we are asking you for ideas for Negotiation's for the 2021-2022 Fiscal year. Like Last year we are asking for ideas (There is no wrong answer) and we will poll the suggestions and put together a survey as we get closer to starting. Please submit 2 requests by responding to this email with ideas of what you want. This process is anonymous and We will leave this open until February 19th. We will share all the submissions via email before putting the survey together and indicate if an idea can not be considered for Negotiation's why it cant be. Thank you for all you do! General Membership Meeting Recap

Good morning all, Thank you to all who attended our zoom meeting yesterday. Here's a recap of what happened: Association activities: Mike Pyatt is on a shared governance committee with the school district and other associations to look into the impact of adding aunts and uncles to bereavement leave. A survey about this is in your district mail. Please fill it out if you haven't already. It closes Friday. Robert Allred is on a study group with the district and other associations (including SLEA) to look into the impact of paid parental leave (maternity/paternity) for district employees. Mike Rollins is on the Insurance Design Committee. Elia Ocampo is on the Title IX Committee. Erik Adams is on the Equity Framework Design Committee, this committee has been inactive since the pandemic started. Erik and Chay meet with Auxiliary Services, Facility Services and Custodial leadership monthly. November's meeting with Paul Schulte and Ricardo was cancelled because we didn't have any concerns to address. Erik meets with the Superintendent/HRS Director(s) monthly. Tuesday's meeting included discussing why paid admin leave takes so long, B&G introducing the association to new employees and if the sick leave bank could have changes. Erik has signed the tentative agreement for B&G with the district. We voted to adopt new bylaws and enter a management agreement with USEA. You will find the bylaws and related documents attached. Updates

Good afternoon all, Just a few updates for you: 1. I met with the Superintendent and Executive Director of Human Resources along with other Presidents earlier this month. The only B&G concerns were to conclude negotiations officially and some safety concerns for the IT Techs at the CLCs. 2. Chay and I met with Ricardo and Paul. We thanked them for appreciation day and discussed concerns about the new provisional status and grounds issues. 3. Chay and I met with Ricky and Merv today. Among the topics we discussed were starting some kind of employee recognition/appreciation and we want feedback from the members/employees. One idea was bringing back the golden bulldog and having it available to all the B&G departments. If you have any ideas please let me, Chay or Ricky know. 4. B&G and the other associations can have input in the next superintendent selection. Human Resources encourages us to fill out the survey on the district website. If you have any specific questions or concerns let me know and I can forward them to Board President Ford. 5. Chay and I are meeting with IT leadership on Monday. If you have any questions let me know.
