About noon, a bicyclist was waiting for a light to change in the southbound lane at 400 West and Parrish Lane. Police say a Ford Taurus was stopped behind him and the driver honked his horn at the 35-year-old bicyclist. The bicyclist responded with profanity and possibly spit on the car, said police Lt. Paul Child. When the light changed, police say the 53-year-old Taurus driver accelerated and intentionally ran into the bike, destroying it. Its rider suffered minor injuries. Police arrested the motorist on suspicion of aggravated assault and criminal mischief.
