NEW! Beginner rides. Get your balance and figure out the gears on wide, flat, paved roads with no traffic because the roads don’t go anywhere. Bring helmet, water, ice cream money. Meet just west of Thanksgiving Point’s huge flashing sign. Thanksgiving Pont is off I-15 exit 287.

Meet at the parking lot east of Hogle Zoo for a ride up Emigration Canyon to the Little Mountain Summit and back. Ride at your own pace and regroup at the top.

Beginner’s Jordan River Parkway, “Yellowstone” section

Meet in trailhead parking lot on North side of road (12600 and Jordan River) for a 4 mile round trip ride. Park bikes and walk up short hill to overlook steaming, hot spring (?) pool. It’s a SEFIL ride (Slow, Easy, Flat, Ice cream Likely). Bring helmet, water, ice cream money.

Thursday Night Bike and Brew

Meet at Canyon Sports 1844 E. Ft. Union Blvd. Good climb up Bengal Blvd. to Wasatch, over to Evergreen and back. A different way to loop the valley. Bring $'s for brews after the ride - riders choice of several close brew pubs. Call or check e-mail if weather conditions are questionable.

Celebrate Tax Day - Emigration Backwards

Donna Fisher wants to make sure you’d gotten your taxes done early. Let’s celebrate freedom from paperwork by biking an out-and-back route from Mountain Dell to Little Mountain Summit, then down Emigration Canyon to the Hogle Zoo. Meet at 10:00 AM at the northeast parking area from the Emigration Canyon exit of I-80, near the turnoff to the Mountain Dell Golf Course. Helmets are required.

Lunch At Moochies

Roosevelt School, 3225 S 800 E, southeast loop, back to SLC, lunch stop at Moochies Famous Meatballs and Pottery Store (sure, why not?). Moochie is from South Philly and has great sandwiches and salads. Her husband Don makes the pottery and runs a school nearby.

Beginner’s Jordan River Parkway, fish ponds section

Ride 5 miles round trip on the Jordan River Parkway, then stay and fish. The new park includes two stocked trout ponds for kids and licensed fishermen. Meet at Riverfront Park (11200 South, 920 West). To get there, take 10600 South until you see Mulligan’s driving range, and then turn south 1 mile on Riverfront Parkway through new office building construction. It’s a SEFIL ride (Slow, Easy, Flat, Ice cream Likely). Bring helmet, water, ice cream money – or rod and bait!

Meet at 2200 West North Temple and ride the airport bike path to the International center and out to Saltair and back. This is a nice flat course perfect for all riders. Please call if weatheris questionable.

Beginner’s Jordan River Parkway, model airport section

Ride 5 miles round trip on the Jordan River Parkway to a newly built duck nesting pond. On return, stop to watch ’em fly BIG model airplanes. Meet at trailhead 2.2 miles south on Saratoga Springs Road off Route 73 in Lehi. It’s a SEFIL ride (Slow, Easy, Flat, Ice cream Likely). Bring helmet, water, ice cream money.
