Big Ride Update-
Next Sunday, August 27 will be The Big Ride!!!
and "The Little Big Ride"!!!
I miss-listed the time in the ride schedule but it has been corrected, both The Big Ride and The Little Big Ride start at 7:30 AM.
There are multiple distances for this ride so there something for
everyone!
After scouting the route, I think the long ride turn around will be in Kamas Utah. This avoids Browns Canyon and Park City. The longest option will be 147 miles, close enough to 150. You have the option of going around Sugarhouse Park if you really want to see 150 in you Computer. This ride has a considerable amount of climbing so please be realistic about the distance you chose, and be prepared. Please bring enough clothing and food. You may have the option of stashing some items in the SAG wagon. This one will be T-U-F-F tuff.
Distance options are as fallows-
23 miles, turn around at Little Mountain.
40 miles, turn around at Big Mountain.
51 miles, turn around at East Canyon resort store- lots more climbing.
62 miles, turn around before you go up the wall
80 miles, turn around in Henifer.
100 miles, turn around in Coalville.
147 miles, turn around in Kamas.
I do want to impose one stipulation
Sunset is 8:09 PM so I want a strict Turn around time of 2:00PM. This is roughly halfway point in time and with this much climbing, we need to be prepared. No matter where you are at 2:00PM, turn around! If you plan to be out after dark, good lights are absolutely required! You
will be on your own after dark!
Yes, I know, Im not usually this serious, but I want everyone to have a great ride! Be safe, and use this as a stepping-stone for a successful LOTOJA, Texas Time Trial, or any other ultra- endeavor.
Luv ya
