Thanks to Shari's campaign after my accident, the City Water Department has
fixed the road hazard I hit on 2700 East at 3120 South in the northbound
lane. The road was repaved about a year ago which left some recessed man
holes that were never fixed until last week. My accident happened on March
12th at approximately 3:30 pm. I was riding northbound on 2700 East at
3120 South when I hit a recessed water main man hole that put me in the hospital
for three days with a collapsed lung, a broken collar bone, and a badly bruised
hip. A good Samaritan who saw me wreck gave me a ride home. There
was another bicyclist behind me, who I did not know, that witnessed my
crash Unfortunately, I did not get their names. If anybody has
heard anyone mention that they saw my fall, please let me know so I can thank
them. I would like to find that other cyclist somehow. I need a
witness to help me make a claim.
Sincerely:
Steve Zinik
