The Utah Yield/Idaho stop law which would allow cyclists to treat stop signs as yield signs passed out of the Senate Transportation Committee today on a 2-1 vote. The next step is to go to the full Utah Senate. Please contact your senator and/or all of the senators to express support of the bill asap. The bill will be voted on today or tomorrow if all goes well. The session ends tomorrow night. Yo Clubbies, Please plan to attend the annual BBTC club picnic this Saturday. We are going to ride, then eat! Don't worry, my wife Erinn is going to help so you won't have to eat food cooked by McCool. If that was the case, we would just have Shot Blocks and instant oatmeal. We will have Hamburgers, brats, and soft drinks. Please bring a yummy dish to share. We will celebrate all the hard work that was done last week for ULCER, and it's tremendous success! [BBTC Ride_calendar] "Get a Grip" bicycle safety - FREE registration for 2008 MS 150 bike tour

"Get a Grip" and register FREE for the 2008 MS 150 Bike Tour- Thanks to the Salt Lake Bicycle Collective and UDOT, bicycle safety courses are being offered each Saturday through September 1st. In an effort to promote safety at the MS Bike Tour, any rider who completes one of these "Road 1" courses can register for free for the 2008 Tour. This is a full day of training: 50% classroom, and 50% on the road, and includes lunch. Riders will receive a discount code that will waive the online registration fee for the 2008 "MS150". The Salt Lake Bicycle Collective uses the curriculum provided by a National MS Society partner, the League of American Bicyclists (LAB). They offer "Kids 1" courses also, for free.
