Hey cyclers: Instead of a New Year's Eve party, let's have an "Old Year" party. Instead of thinking about what we hope we can accomplish in the new year, let's pat each other on the back for the great things we did accomplish this year! [BBTC Ride_calendar] Death Valley Bike Trip

Club Members Bob Wright is putting on his annual Death Valley bike ride again this year from Thursday 2/8/07 through Monday 2/12/07. Thursday & Monday are travel days with Friday, Saturday & Sunday being ride days. Car pooling available. Cost - Approximately $50 which includes all camping fees for Thursday night through Monday Nigh & food from Friday breakfast, lunch sandwiches & supper through Monday breakfast. I must receive your check for $50 payable to "Bob Wright" by 5:00pm on January 15, 2006. >From this week's roadbikerider.com cool holiday music on the web, thanks to Specialized. Cool because not only is it well done, it's done with bike parts. An experimental musician (and cyclist) named Flip Barber is credited with the production, which, according to BikeBiz.com, is "stunning." It's a rendition of Tchaikovsky's "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy" from "The Nutcracker Suite." The glockenspiel and clarinet melody is created with spokes. The cello and violin pizzicatos are made by plucking derailleur cables. The tingly triangle is a tap on a disc brake. The percussion is a medley of shifting, coasting, braking, clipping into pedals, back-spinning, and air pssss-ing out of tires. Hey BBTC! OK, we can turn off the air conditioner, one day we're in the fifties and sixties and the next we're lucky to get into the twenties. Well the only rides on the calendar this week coming, are on Sunday. Let's hope the weather warms up enough to pedal. Also, the ride calendar for January and February will be closing on Friday 12/15, so let's start planning our rides and posting them to the calendar. If you're bummed out (or even if you're not) about the rides being canceled this weekend, I invite you to come out and play in the snow instead.
