This Enforcement Project is being funded by a grant the Utah Departments of Health, Public Safety and Transportation received from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The five police agencies selected to participate are: SLC Police Department, SL Co. Sheriff's Office, Taylorsville City Police Department, Roy P.D. and Layton P.D. The main focus of the enforcement project is motorists, but law enforcement officers have been advised to stop and cite bicyclists as well. Riders obey traffic laws or you may be stopped. Details for the 50 mile ride on Sunday June 5, at 10:00 am. Meet at Fashion Place Mall in the SW corner behind Chuck-O-Rama. We will ride straight west on Winchester to 1300 West, north to 5400 So. West to the Bacus Hwy, South and then out to Copperton. We will re-group at the Copperton City Park. Then we'll head over to Herriman, east to 700 East in Draper, north on 700 E. to 6400 So. and back to the Mall. Later that evening from 6:00 - 9:30 PM, please join me for an open house and celebration of 50 years! The location is the Clubhouse at the South 67 Condominums at 47 W. Lester. To get there - from State Street in Murray, go west at 6790 So. (there is a Master Muffler on the NW corner) about a 1/2 block on the north side of the street is the entrance to the condominums. Dinner buffet will be served. All Club members and their families are invited to join us. Hope to see you there. (NO GIFTS PLEASE)

The Ride: Coalville-Chalk Creek Rendezvous starting from Henefer or Wanship The Start Time: Sunday, 5 June @ 8:30 AM Total ride Distance: Aprox 66 miles (48 miles if you start/finish in Coalville) The Details: The starting point in Henefer is a small park located one block west of Main Street on 100 West. The park is accessible from Center Street or 100 North. The Henefer riders have an additional few miles to cover and need to start promptly at 8:30 in order rendezvous with the Wanship group at the Summit County Courthouse located at 50 N. Main in Coalville. If you miss the start, drive to the Courthouse and start your ride from there. We expect to leave the Courthouse NLT 9:30 and head 24 miles up Chalk Creek Road (starting at 100 N. Main). A SAG vehicle will pickup any personal gear/food items at the Courthouse for transport to the lunch stop near the turn-around. Water and snacks will be available for all riders at the Courthouse and the lunch stop. Expect water only at the Courthouse on the return trip. There is a convenience store in Coalville, but I can't say if or when it opens on Sundays--plan accordingly. I'm looking for one BBTC member to assist me by signing in the Wanship riders and leading that group from the Rail Trail parking lot to Coalville. Northern Utah riders will depart the Henefer City Park and head south via the Echo reservoir road to rendezvous at the Summit County Court House in Coalville. The peleton will make its way up East Calk Creek Road to the pavement's end where we'll indulge on Otter Pops and various chips-n-dips before returning. We hope to have SAG vehicles from either end to transport additional food or necessities riders may require.
