I went to the Hamburg show on Sept 11th and sold my Dusseldorf tickets afterwards... altogether now: ONE SHOW IS ENOUGH...FOR ALL OF US ;o) just my $0.02 Volker
Okay, so The Police have just announced their second show in Denmark in June next year - the question is, should I go?
I have a hard time making up my mind here. Ticket prices are high - again - and I have already seen them when they were here on September 1st. That was an amazing show, but it will probably be the same show over again in June. Also, the summer shows come after a three month break, so maybe they will not be up to full speed.
Then again, this is probably one of the last chances to see the trio perform live, and they are my favourite group.
They could, of course, do the unthinkable and make new music in the three month break and present that at the summer shows, in which case I should definitely go!
What are your thoughts about the summer shows? Will they just be a plain wrap-up of the tour, or will we see something different? I'm hoping the latter, but logic dictates the former (the same logic that ruled out a Police reunion for 20 some years ...).

just my $0.02 Agreed! Your $0.02 is quite a bit less than the nearly $800 I dropped to see them in Seattle. I've since gone the dimeadozen.org route to get my fix. And though I've downloaded every show I find, I've only listened to a few. For the amount of creativity and musicianship between those three guys, it's too bad they can't be even a little more like the resurrected Crowded House - who not only ARE playing a different setlist each and every night, but are playing obscure songs from their back history, taking audience requests, and even making up songs on stage. Mitch, Couldn't agree more.... saw the crowdies a few weeks ago in Brisbane. Were awesome. They had lost none of their stage presence ( aside from Paul not being there on stage with them ). But then the crowdies were always a different breed to the Police. We would call them a pub band down here! Cheers from down here! -----Original Message----- From: police-bounces@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:police-bounces@mailman.xmission.com]On Behalf Of Mitch Darby Sent: Friday, 30 November 2007 7:19 AM To: police@mailman.xmission.com Subject: RE: [Police] Should I go ...? Yep! Once was a time that the Police were a pub band (Andy still manages it from time to time!). I also neglected to mention that Crowded House (unlike The Police, Van Halen, Genesis, etc.) are actually touring behind NEW music as well. As biting as that criticism may be against the Police, it's done (by me) with the greatest of affection. I want them (the Police [and VH too for that matter]) to exist at their full potential. I can do without the overpriced and underachieving tours. Cheers from the other side of the Pacific Rim!
