One of these days they will have to release a Police and Sting anthology, like The Beatles did. They could release all the albums in a box set with different takes, demos, unreleased songs etc. In addition to the Ghost demos, I know there are alternate takes of Roxanne, Can't Stand Losing You, So Lonely etc... These are studio recordings, not live, done at the time of Outlandos. In the alternate take of Roxanne, Sting sings "Roxanne... I won't share you with another man" instead of "boy." I have seen fans of other bands get together and petition for the release of material. Maybe we should just put our efforts together and ask the record company to consider an anthology. Isn't the Police's induction on the R&R Hall of Fame coming up? Seems like the right time to do it... -----Original Message----- From: Giovanni [mailto:giovanni.pollastri@libero.it] Sent: Tuesday, March 19, 2002 4:03 PM To: Craig Betts; police@mailman.xmission.com Subject: R: [Police] Re: Demo Track What If Hi Craig and everybdoy! I can confirm what Andy Summers use to say; he told me a few times that there are so many things that could be published (demos, radio sessions, previously unreleased tracks, live) that more than one good album could be released! But I think they will wait again. A triple cd was on his way to be released (two cd's with greatest hits and a third cd with the Vic Garbarini interview they recorded in Los Angeles a couple of years ago, already published in a couple of magazines); Andy told it has been absolutely great and the three of them really enjoyed doing this; they didn't record any music, only spoken word. If you have read it, you know what I mean! Ciao ciao Giovanni
