Re: [Police] Who Yelled the Police Are Back?!
hi But I have a great ear, and sorry, dietmar, tend to disagree !! you may but I've also got a good ear - used to be sound engineer for a band sting didn't hit all the notes, sometimes he "pitched" a bit over the ones he wanted to reach... depends on each individual's reception dietmar
I'll give you that -- it is common that tenors tend to "over-pitch", and I think it is something that Sting does on occasion. But it is much easier to listen to the "over-pitch" than to listen to the flat singing, and he is correct to sing 'higher' than needed. If you are singer (which I am) the one thing we know is that we almost never sing a perfect song. For goodness sake, a sound engineer? Nothing is ever perfect, is it?? And I mean that in the nicest way, since we as singers want someone on the other end to help us sound more perfect than we are. :) Michelle ----- Original Message ----- From: DtmrCls@aol.com To: police@mailman.xmission.com Sent: Monday, February 12, 2007 9:15 AM Subject: Re: [Police] Who Yelled the Police Are Back?! hi But I have a great ear, and sorry, dietmar, tend to disagree !! you may but I've also got a good ear - used to be sound engineer for a band sting didn't hit all the notes, sometimes he "pitched" a bit over the ones he wanted to reach... depends on each individual's reception dietmar ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ _______________________________________________ Police mailing list Police@mailman.xmission.com http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/police
I just saw a few seconds Police performance on the morning news. And because Andy was going to play the reissue guitar I paid extra attention to Andy's guitar sound. I'd have to agree with Dietmar that it didn't have the bite like the original. On the other hand. Times and technique have changed. After such a long time you can't expect exactly the same. They seemed quite happy. Give them a break. Some interesting articles on Andy's guitar. Stewart mentions that the original is not longer playable. http://www.fender.com/news/index.php?display_article=140 http://www.fender.com/news/index.php?display_article=161 http://www.fender.com/summers/ _____ From: police-bounces+annejelmer=hotmail.com@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:police-bounces+annejelmer=hotmail.com@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of Michelle Manoni Sent: Monday, February 12, 2007 3:34 PM To: police@mailman.xmission.com Subject: Re: [Police] Who Yelled the Police Are Back?!
