Hi Everyone, I caught the end of a bit on the afternoon talk show, "The Talk", where they discuss newsy tidbits, and one of their topics seemed to be about the Police only writing songs when they were high on booze or other chemical substances and maybe not remembering much? Did something come out about that? I was working at a nursing home yesterday and someone had it on in their room, which is how I heard it. The women on the panel were making bad Police jokes, like, " Well, it looks like they were Walking on the Moon!" And Sharon Osbourne, of all people, said something like, "Well, if they can't be creative without " help", then they're not really artists." Seriously, Sharon?! Have you *met* Ozzy? Anyway, just wondering what this might have been about. Miss you guys!!! Hugs all around, Holly

Did something come out about that? Sharon Osbourne was reading from The Daily Mail I believe where Sting was interviewed and said that weed can help you be creative esp if you get writers block... they (the Talk) said they were glad all of his fans were over 40 since that was a horrible message for kids..I can't easily find which article she was referring to.. Here's an earlier link to interview back in June about creative block and Sting; http://www.thefix.com/content/stings-calls-drugs-creative-tool Speaking to Britain’s Event magazine, Sting admitted to occasionally lighting up a joint when writer’s block takes hold. “If I’m feeling stuck on a lyric or an idea isn’t quite gelling, sometimes a puff of weed will free it up. I rarely smoke it socially. It’s a tool, just as a pen is,” he said. “Several artists have used drugs to make great art. I certainly wouldn’t advocate that you have to take drugs to make art, but then you can’t nullify the work of the Beatles. They took LSD and they made fantastic albums.” On Aug 7, 2014, at 2:12 PM, Holly Mollo wrote:

I remember reading about this from an interview 10-15 years ago. I'd always had it in my head that he'd said that before. On Thu, Aug 7, 2014 at 11:38 AM, Paula Mickevich <kazimira@verizon.net> wrote:

Hi everybody, this is Giovanni from Milano. There is a lot of ipocrisy in the showbiz world, and Sting at least says as it is! It's incredible how some people still seem surprised about that. I mean, we got drugs floating in in the government palaces, all around the world, cocaine and all sorts of stuff circulating in the cinema sets or tv productions, and there is still someone surprised when someone speaks his mind. The good message to kids is letting them know how it really works, not hiding what's inside the real world. When something is considered prohibitive...well, I guess it attracts a lot more.
