well, today's the day, the day that we have been waiting for the past...17 yrs my emotions are mixed on it. this past thursday i found out that my boss had to tickets to the ceremony but that he gave them away - without even mentioning to me that he had them in the 1st place. i sarcastically pointed out that i have had three police posters framed at company expense - that alone should have raised a flag! i can stay mad about it for the rest of my life but why bother? 17 years. i was 16 the last time the police graced a stage in a concert setting. 1986. the amnesty shows. from the video i have seen of their set at giants stadium, they were awesome, as usual. and i have no doubt that their performance tonite will be the talk of the music and entertainment industry tomorrow, everyone from nancy o'dell to kurt loder going on and one about how great they were at the ceremony, a few daring to ask the rhetorical question "why aren't they still playing together? it's obvious they are still a great band." therein lies my dilemna. barring an 11th hour miracle today, i, like the rest of you, will tune into vh-1 on sunday and watch the boys captivate the waldorf and tv-land for about 20 minutes. but then it will be all over. today is a bittersweet day in the annals of police history because while they are getting inducted into the hall of fame and playing together in the process, i have no doubt that it will also be the last time they ever play together again. for those of you that think this is a good thing, get back to me next monday, after you have seen the footage and are over being awestruck. it will be 'regatta' you will be listening to next week, not BND. rich __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
