Well, I understand the logic behind that, sticking to the hits. But it seems to me that even Man In A Suitcase
was a bigger hit then even Voices or Hole, as much as I love those songs....
All three have had a place in past Police tours. To my knowledge, Man In A Suitcase only lasted the Zenyatta tour, while Voices went on to become the opening music (in re-recorded form) for both the Ghost and Synch. tours. Hole, of course, was played on the early tours and then brought back for the Synchronicity tour. BUT, I suspect the real reason they are in todays set list is because they were both a part of Stings Broken Music tour. And as we all know, its Stings table!
I wish I could have seen Van Halen too, always a big David Lee Roth-era Van Halen fan. Just wasn´t the same
with Sammy. He did a good job, but just didn´t have that personality that Diamond Dave did. 8^)
Like The Police, VH has just extended their tour as well (see van-halen.com or vhnd.com for dates). They also promise new music in the future. But Ive heard that promise before! I (like many others) agree with you about Sam & Dave. Dave was the best part of the show. Ive seen him solo once before and I have heard a few boots from both his solo tours and his Van Halen years, but he was better vocally at this show. Ed was Ed. Al was Al. And Wolfgang was adequate if unremarkable. It would have been better had Wolf played rhythm guitar and Michael been on bass (his rightful place). Mitch
