I really liked many of the b-sides from Mercury Falling, perhaps more than many of the songs from the album itself I agree. When MF came out I was rather disappointed, and the concert that I attended was very uninspoiring (it was only the third or fourth on the tour, so they were not "played in"). Still, I must admit it has grown on me, and I quite like it now.
The Pirates Bride Ah - my favourite b-side! Beautifully haunting - I love it when he does that!
With regards to the possible reunion, I for one think it will happen - the question is just what "it" will be. Somehow I have the feeling that they might go all the way and make new material and a new album - the way I see it, this would be the only way Sting could justify going back after all his comments about how you should never try to re-create the past etc. Didn't he, at one point, say he would rather die than reform The Police? I seem to remember a heated debate on the list about that comment a few years back. Anyway, it is great to see so much activity here - just like in the old days. Seems we were all just lurking!
