This track, de do do do (86)  puzzled me for a while as well. So I went straight to the horse's mouth or guitar as it were!  
 
I asked Andy when he was down here in Sydney last year, and he tells me that it was recorded in '86.
 
So this just adds to the mystery.

The version of De Do Do Do is NOT the 1986 Re-Recorded version from 'The Singles' Sessions in London.
As everybody knows, this was Sting's 1980 Demo with Stewarts Demo Drum track of the song, both of these elements were mixed together, so all your hearing is a DTS Remix of Stings Demo Track. I'm glad this is the Demo as the Unreleased Version would sound on the same level as Don't Stand So Close To Me '86..better quality!
 
The Demo version was only released due to the fact that the studio engineer could not find the original master reels of De Do Do Do, all they found was Sting's Demo and Stewarts Demo Drum Track.
