Hmmm....as a word of caution, my experience has been that getting into a sound check for The Police is much more difficult and risky than getting into a Sting sound check. Yesterday I got into the Bell Centre with a friend right around 3:30 (long story how, but basically it was a combination of persistence and dumb luck). There was a Fiction Plane sound check going on at the time and we figured The Police would be doing their sound check at around 4:00. After waiting between two sets of curtains that covered one of the entrances into the arena for half an hour, my buddy and I got impatient and decided that if we looked like we knew what we were doing and sat quietly at the back of the arena, we would probably be OK. Man, were we ever wrong! Security found us in less than 30 seconds. We wouldn't have lasted 15 seconds had The Police been on stage at the time. Long story short, the security guy who approached us would not let us leave the arena. He insisted on trying to find out which entrance we came, and he called the head of security to question us further. Had we had our tickets for the show on us, they would have been taken away. When asked if we were going to the show that night we lied and said no. If they believed we were going to the show, they would have photographed us and handed out our pictures to the ushers to ensure we were not allowed in. They were considering calling the police to have us taken away. (I thought of saying "great...that's exactly what we were hoping for", but figured sarcasm was not appropriate at the time :) Anyway, in the end nothing happened, but it could have very easily gone horribly wrong. While we certainly knew we were not supposed to be sneaking into the arena for the sound check, we certainly did not expect the harsh reaction we received once we got caught. Once caught, clearly the game was up, so we were very polite and were very willing to leave immediately with no hassles. It was a pretty close call, for sure! Based upon this experience, I don't think trying to get in is worth the risk. Just my 2 cents!! If anyone else tries, I wish you good luck!!!
