Andy was here in Toronto back in October for a book signing event and he did a few interviews on various radio and television stations too. The CBC television interview was finally aired tonight. In conjunction with that interview, there is an on-line video which is about 10 minutes long in which Andy talks about each track on Synchronicity. The latter is stuff from that tour; the former is a video of them recording the album at Sting's studio in Lake House. Despite a few times when the sound quality is inexplicably fuzzy, it's worth watching for little instrumental flourishes that aren't on the album (what the heck happened to that nice little cascadey thing in Seven Days? and I'm sure that's an alt. version of Fields of Gold...), the feeling of Being There, and the moment when a double bass falls over and startles everyone. Oh, and the strangely compelling all-band, a capella version of Love is Stronger Than Justice at the end. You must watch the tape. Really. The Unplugged one is also excellent. I'm still looking to get back to the person who asked me about b-sides; I'd need to compare my list to those online... will do some digging.
