I am really suprised after how all this time sounded that Sting chose to make an album that was so heavily produced. I think that the lyrics of Stolen Car are classic Sting, but the music is thick and soupy. I think the live version of the song is much better.
I thought it was just me, or my digital headphones. I feel the same way. To me, his voice really is predominent over the music, especially in the first track. I love his lyricism too, but I don't want it in my face. I want it to sink in. There is one song where Sting's hybrid style is a little bit hard to accept, because the feel of the song shifts gears completely. I'll have to do some more listening definitely.
