Ohhhhhh yea…. Audiogalaxy !!! That’s
a blast from the past! I loved the way it was organized and the myriad of ways
you could run searches – wow, it’s been so long ago I’d
almost forgotten! Those bad, bad, RIAA men (I’m just kidding Steve!)

Ah, the old "Lemon
Tree".
I did my own little investigation back when the debate ran on the
Sting newsgroup (alt.fan.sting), and I discovered something interesting:
I knew that it was not Sting singing, because I knew the band Fool's Garden
(German, I believe), and the way I remebered the song, it was never one that I
could mistake for a Sting song. So I decided to track down the original cd and
compared it to the verson floating around on Napster (and Audiogalaxy -
remember that one, boys and girls?), and it was undoubtedly the same song, but
the Napster version was slightly faster, giving the singer a slightly higher
pitch that - admittedly - made him sound very much like Sting.

I downloaded this song from Napster years ago. It was listed as Sting and it sounded so much like him that I never questioned it. I just thought it was him covering another band's song. The reason I mention this is because, withall the ambient noise in the restaurant, I thought I was hearing some weirdunknown Sting / Police tune! The lead singer seemed to be doing a fair Stingimpression when he sang the first line, which is almost exactly (musically-- note for note)the first line of "Wrapped Around Your Finger". It's easilyfindable on You Tube if you want to hear what I mean.Speaking of "I Shall Be Released", I have some fabulous boots by that namewith a bunch of Sting performances that includes the title track. I thinkthere are 5 CD's in the series -- if there are any more out there, pleaselet me know -- I am VERY interested!!Have a great week!Holly _______________________________________________Police mailing listPolice@mailman.xmission.comhttp://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/police _______________________________________________Police mailing listPolice@mailman.xmission.comhttp://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/police_______________________________________________Police mailing listPolice@mailman.xmission.comhttp://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/police
