just to divide my happiness with all the fans in this list: today is one of my best anniversary..... 5 years ago on 8 febrary 1997, I was in Montecarlo on stage with..... you know a magic man called STING. , singing I'm so happy.... I really was totaly happy and STILL I am, but on that time I couldn't imagine how many other think would have appened UNTIL......now baci a tutti dalla bella Italia,..Lydia

In reply to Michele Petri's post - Sting endorses a series of yoga tapes called 'The Flow Series' from the White Lotus Foundation. It's mentioned on sting.com - click on 'news in full', then scroll way down.- I have them and I don't know a thing about yoga, but after trying them, they do seem to help develop muscles and flexibility. But you have to be kind of strong and flexible in the first place to do all the poses! (I'm still working up to that part as I can't do it all yet (and this is the first tape!) I don't think it's all that cardiovascular, but who knows what happens in the other two, harder tapes. They just LOOK like poses, but I know that just slowly doing squats gets your heart rate up. Well, not to write a book, but I think they're worth it if you're into fitness. :) (in half an hour, the games begin! Ohhh, the games we play...)

Sting Fan At The Olympics !

what a small world it is , Angie aka The Bellydancer Featured On Vh1 Fanclub who lives in salt lake city , volunteered to work at The opening Olympic Ceremony approx 1 1/2 yrs ago , she of course was excited to find out Just a few weeks ago that sting Would be Performing , But due to the enourmity of the show she didn't think she would get a chance to chat or meet with him until ...... in addition to her Prop assignments , just days ago she was given the responsibility to look after His stool LoL! " you know place it & remove it from the stage etc well last night was her first oppourtunity to fulfil her Big Stool responsibility & after sting rehearsed with yo yo , to much of Angies delight & suprise He approched Her With a Very Friendly Hug , Hello & I'm freezing aren't you ? , she proceeded to explain her signing up to volunteer a while ago & her new found stool responsibility , he cracked up & Got a big Kick Out Of it , as they were were chatting freezing their buts off , Angie heard a yell from her supervisor " Angie the stool The stool " well , apparently After sting Performs The Stage moves & Because she didn't remove the stool when he finished "because she was busy yacking it up with him" "off it went , the stool Gliding along the ice on an empty stage ! LOL! This is a proud day in Sting Fan Land!!! I am so thrilled that he was a part of such an amazing event and that Fragile was chosen as the song to represent Peace.....such an honor for Sting and, perhaps more importantly, his music. My only dilemma is whether he sounded more beautiful than he looked or vice versa!!! Tough call! Hope everyone is safe and well, Anne

Copeland interview

Hello all, I just received the new catalog from Guitar Center and there is a nice Stew interview. A full transcript of the interview can be found at www.guitarcenter.com Stew had some cool things to say, however, this interview is a little old. When asked if he had any advice for young drummers Stew said, " Get on the mic. Anyhow you slice it, the drummer is basically working for the singer, or the lead guitarist or whatever the top line is. You know; drums are really fun instruments to play, but as a career, you're working for the singer. You're always gonna be waiting for that singer. You haven't got a job unless the singer says you have a job! You know what I mean? The singer can do a job without you, but you can't do a job without a singer! You can go ahead and do a drum solo, but thats pretty rare. It's a fun interview. For anyone who is a drummer, Stew has his own snare out ( for around $1,700) For those who need it, he does talk about Sting.

Hello, I have followed this discussion for a while and finally have time to add my 2 cents: I also watched the concert Dietmar is talking about and I remember at the beginning of the concert somebody shouted something like "Andy, rock the house!!" several times, finally Andy turned to him and said "why don't you come on stage and show us how it's done?", obviously he was pissed. Consider the fact that Andy likes playing Jazz because he can express his feelings directly through the music he plays, this may explain his bad form during that night... I'm not a guitar player but a drummer (so I focused a big part of my interest on Dennis Chambers), so I can't say much about mistakes he played, but the overall performance was not as good as I expected it to be, a bad mood during the concert might be an explanation... thanks Volker

Well, I would be interested too, and not only because I recently starred doing Ashtanga yoga.. ;) The only thing I could find Sting-yoga related was the white lotus foundation/organization from which he recommends the video's (and, I think that man is also his personal teacher-I could be very wrong here). But I'm sure you've all seen that on sting.com.
