2 tix for St. Louis, face value

Hello, I know someone with 2 tickets for Monday's St. Louis Police concert. The tickets are plaza level, aisle 116, row W, seats 3 and 4. This is in the lower level about half way back. Wow....I did a search and found floor tickets without a problem. How come when I wanted to buy these before it was impossible? Oh well....I can't afford $500 right now otherwise I would be there. Houston is only 2 1/2 hours away so it is doable. Hmmmmmmm....where can I get $500??!!?? Any ideas? ; P there will always be prostitution glad to be of help dietmar

Sting & dinner

Just found this and needed to share with everyone: Sting and Trudie Styler are hosting a screening and dinner Nov. 6 for the aforementioned "A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints" in New York. The honorees will be stars Chazz Palminteri and Dianne Wiest, each of whom is the subject of awards buzz. Expect Robert DeNiro to put in an appearance at Florence Gould Hall. He gave Chazz his start with "A Bronx Tale" … Tickets are still available for a delicious music industry event on Monday night. My Dallas dream come true

As horribly bad as Tuesday was. Wednesday was just as wonderfully amazing. Yes, I got to sing Every Little Thing with the band at the sound check (me and a woman named Dana trading off verses with Sting). Let's just say that some groundwork I laid in Los Angeles paid off for me in Dallas and I got into the sound check with the Best Buy winners. I talked to the right BB person in LA and it helped in Dallas, and I didn't even have to tell my Tuesday sob story! That's what's even more amazing. I was late getting into the sound check and missed about two songs. When I got in there were about 30 BB winners watching the soundcheck and a guy/winner on stage singing Message with the band (very well, I might add). When that was over, Sting asked for more volunteers and picked two women to sing Don't Stand. We were all cheering for them. When that was over they decided to do one more song and asked for volunteers again. Sting picked a woman named Dana. I was raising my hand and Stew pointed at me and said "The lady in pink." WOO-HOOOOOO!!! That's me. I walk around the side of the stage and can't find my way in. Finally find a slit in the curtains and go in, walking up the stairs. I honestly can't remember much of what happened. I know Sting scrolled through several songs on his teleprompter before deciding on Magic. They were going to do it in another key but Andy told him no, that he'd have to re-tune his guitar or something, so they kept it as is. Sting said that he'd start us off. Basically we each sang two lines and then the chorus all together. I got the lines that end in the long notes - It's a big enough umbrella but it's always me that ends up getting weeeeeetttttt. I had the time of my life. I'm a terrible singer but I gave it 110%!! You have to. I'm sure I sounded terrrible and I was so nervous and excited that my voice was quavering. But I didn't care. I looked back at Stew a couple of times and tried not to look at the audience at all. I know I was dancing, too. I can't help it. The mic was at a really odd angle and I had trouble with that. Sting kept pushing me closer to the mic. I was in the middle and I was trying not to squeeze out Dana, though. I had tossed my camera to some woman as I was walking to the stage, so I have some decent pics. I don't know how to post them and I will have to wait until I get home anyway. I don't have my USB cable and my mom's computer (where I'm staying) is dial up! After the song, Sting told us we did a great job and gave us each a hug. I never saw the Dana woman again, so I don't know what happened to her. The BB winners in the crowd were very gracious and told me I did a good job. I know I didn't, but it was nice to hear. We all went back into the Moroccan tent/food area to hang out for a while. I immediately called my husband, Bill Bredice (why didn't you answer!?) and Jen to squeal like a 10 year old! After about 20 minutes they told us we could go watch the Fiction Plane soundcheck too. So we went out there. Joe was on stage and said something like "Any of you can come sing with us too, but I doubt you'll know any of our songs." I said that I knew Cigarette and so he invited me on stage. So I also sang Cigarette with FP!!! I knew about 90% of the words, there's one little passage I never get. But I sang about 85% of it on my own with Joe coming in when I'd look at him frantically over the lines I couldn't remember. Again, I tried not to look at the BB winners, but when I did, they seemed to be supportive. I know I was dancing again. We also heard FP play a new song with the chorus "Shine on." I liked it. When FP signed autographs for the BB winners, Joe told me that I did a great job and he was impressed I knew the words. Funniest thing overheard in the restroom that night...a woman who thought FP's song Cigarette (F yourself and F your cigarette) was an anti-smoking song aimed at smokers. I had a 16th row isle seat. During the first encore I managed to move up to about the 5th rown right in front of Sting. During EBYT several people along the rail in the front row left and I took their spot at the rail!! When Sting was right in front of me when they were bowing he tilted his head and acknowledged me as someone he remembered, I guess. So, that's my amazing story. One of the worst days of my life on Tuesday and one of the best on Wednesday. I'll figure out where to post pics when I get home this weekend. I gotta go. My grandma wants to drive me around to all the Texas relatives - my great aunt and uncle and people I don't even know how I'm related to. A small price to pay for a heavenly day. My Dallas nightmare

Suffice to say, yesterday was one of the worst days of my life. To make a very very long story short.... I missed the first Dallas show completely (I had 11th row floor on Sting's side) but if there is such a thing as karma, I'm in OK shape. My flight from CA to Dallas was diverted to Abeline TX because of the horrible weather over DFW. I was supposed to get in to DFW at 2:20 - plenty of time to hang out and then go to the show. After many many many delays, they finally told us all flights to DFW were canceled and they would bus us to Dallas or rent hotel rooms in Abeline for us. This was about 5 p.m. I knew that option would NEVER get me to Dallas on time. I rented the last vehicle available - a 12 passenger van. Since I was headed to Dallas with plenty of room, I offered to drive anyone who needed to get to Dal faster. I immediately had more people than I had room for (several large flights had been diverted to Abeline) including a family with two small kids and a baby. They didn't have enough formula for the baby to last into the night and certainly not the next day. But we hadn't counted on the luggage.....I had already had someone get my carry on off the plane. But we had to wait and wait for everyone else's luggage. If I had left right then, ans said "Sorry, see ya later" I probably could have gotten to the concert just in time for the Police. But I'd already promised a ride to 10 people, including the family with the baby, and I knew they need to get to Dallas and I was the quickest option. The trip from Abeline to Dal was crazy. Pouring rain and low visibility for most of the time, dark for half and me driving a huge van filled with strangers. Talk about an overwhelming sense of responsibility!! If I'd crashed......well, we didn't, so that's something to be grateful for. The drive was MUCH longer than in looked on the map. We got into Dallas at 10 p.m. Then I had to drop everyone off at the airport, find my way out of the airport and to the venue. I got lost, had a meltdown in front of a clerk at a mini mart (I HAD been up since 3:30 a.m. that day) and finally decided I wasn't going to even try for the venue. It was 10:30 p.m. and I had no idea where I was. It took me another hour to find the place to return the rental car (the other airport in town) and finally my brother and his wife (who had been at the show and liked it) picked me up. My horrible day ended at 11:30 p.m. As I re-read this, it doesn't sound that bad. But I've simplified for the sake of time and space. It really was one frustration after another. At some point, I think it was about 8:30 and we were still 80 something miles from Dallas, I was resigned to missing the show from the 11th row and eating the $250+ for the ticket. That wasn't what frustrated me. What's done is done. You can't control the weather. The woman next to me on the plane missed her grandson's first birthday. Another guy missed his flight to vacation in Cancun. Many people missed connecting flights to home or business meetings. We were all in the same boat. What frustrated me was the getting lost more than twice (OK - Texas highway signs SUCK, can I just say that!!) and the endless driving that finally made me break into tears. Let's hope today, and tonight's concert, are better. I did the right thing by getting people home and to their business commitments. Some things are more important than concerts, even the Police. Maggie, O my God, I'm so sorry to hear you were driven to tears on your not-so-secret journey. Why couldn't this have happened on any other day? Driving in the darkness can be a deathwish. When the world is running down you make the best of what's still around by implementing flexible strategies and renting that van. You need these kinds of low-life moments from time to time to rehumanize yourself - it's just unfortunate that you had no time this time. But at least you made new friends, and you're getting a new imported toy out of it! And look at it this way - you only missed one concert (not three). Sound Check Time

My girlfriend and me are going to the St Louis show on Monday. I'd like to get in and see the soundcheck if at all possible (and hopefully meet the guys). How long before a performance do they usually do the soundcheck? Thanks in advace, Pat
