Jane, Oh sure, you're right. A lot of people won't give "Send Your Love" a chance because it is techno. Nothing wrong with that, though. Just as I myself simply can't listen to rap. I don't considerate it a legitimate art form. I'm not a fan of a big electronic sound, either, but I must admit that I was dazzled by "Desert Rose." I thought that was one of Sting's best songs. So I give all his work a chance. But "Send Your Love" doesn't do it for me. Still expecting a great album, though. The wait has been too long. Johnny Nitro

Fiction Plane

Just a quick note to say I saw FP last night in Hollywood on the MTV "You Hear it First" tour. They played a short set, about 35 minutes. The energy was good and they sounded great. Joe didn't move around as much as the last time I saw them, but I think they were a little more crowded on the stage. They were the first of three acts. A guy named Kenna sang. He was pretty good. Kind of synth-heavy 80s Seal-like music. He had a lot of fans in the crowd. I'd say most people were there to see him. The Exies (who I really like) also played. They were very good. Pretty scrungy compared to FP's relative clean-cut look. The FP fans found each other and there were about 10 of us all standing together, including a guy who goes to practically all their shows. He brings his harem with him. Abe Laboriel and his girlfriend were there specifically to see FP. Every time I glanced at Abe, he was totally rocking out. I think the crowd liked FP. Unfortunately, the band couldn't/didn't get to walk around to sell CDs. It was the first time I've heard Fallow (one of my favs) live. Their new song, 4 a.m., is amazing. It should have been on the CD. Joe said his mom was there. The band is playing in Bakersfield, CA. on Saturday. It's an icky city north east of LA. Joe said that people have told him that the venue where they are playing is a gas station! I think he was only half joking. Anyway, I could probably recall the set list if anyone is *that* interested. I'm seeing Duran Duran tonight. If anyone is interested in how that show is, let me know. Maggie

Hey JMuns i never heard "Why don't you answer"but I admire Eberhard Schoener poems (guess Sting 'cover's" his songs a lot,no?) My point is,wow ...(I should have a friend like you that like 'hip' momentum !)WOW u like Sting's new "electronic-mail"! Some Sting fans are used to him drinking his tea from sackhets(well labed,that's true)but now he got powder-concentrated tea...and all go...this is no way of stirrrr(Ok so what ? Some friends and I are going to see The Stones and Ac Dc etc at the Toronto SARS benifit on July 30. I asked another friend if she wanted to join us and she didnt answer me right away. She said that she had to think about it. I told her that "the moment that you have to pause to think about going to something like this is the moment that you are not hip anymore". I believe that there is a truth to this statement (besides the fact that I was being funny--as usual). There is something about being hip....about being able to adapt to any situation or change. AND SOOOO IF Sting makes a new song with a new sound........For example..Send Your Love I can adapt to give it a chance instead of condemming it right away. I dont really like dance music usually. I like this. Is this wrong??? Then I am sorry to say my friends that the world is still flat. Get with "it" (Whatever "IT" is) Hip-fully yours J
