Me too! Loved hearing Desert Rose while dancing... All I ever get now is the slower songs while shopping! Just heard Patterns (the Emperor's New Groove song) today. I'm dying to hear the new one. Just my observation, but he really seems to follow what Madonna's mode of marketing is a few years later. They're getting up there in age you know, and have a lot to compete with whether the bands are talented or not. Hi! Thanks to all of you that emailed! I did finally hear the song and I have to say that I like it. I am curious to hear the album version, but that will be available soon. I too wish I could be more critical of Sting, but as my parents said years ago at one of the many Sting concerts I went to as a kid..."He could sing from a phone book and Hilary would cheer!" Hi there, I think this is a remix of the original tracks from Caldrone or Dave Audé. There isn't Dominic's guitar, there isn't Vinnei's or Manu's drums and seems like there is a synth bass. It's the same old music industry fluff we can hear on any sleepy, corporately owned station. "That's the new Sting song. Before that was Cher. Next up, Mariah Carey." Please! Sting should not fall meekly into such categories. He's capable of much more. That said, I'd still like to know if this is the album version of "Send Your Love." We want music that soars. And Sting, much more often than not, uncages songs with wings. We didn't want limericks from Hemingway. We don't want pornography from Kurt Vonnegut. Though, some of them are okay. Of his songs, I prefer the ones where his voice is more in-time with the rhythm of the music, or more complimented by the music. I never wanted dance toons, but I can appreciate this attempt to go in the direction of adding more rhythm in his voice. I hope that makes sense. I still don't think I'm saying what I mean actually. The first time I saw the title for "Send Your Love", I kept hearing Debbie Gibson's song (which I HATE) "Shake Your Love" --arrgh. Now, I'm thinking of Steve Miller. Go, figure. I guess I'm the only one who was reminded at the beginning, of the song "Fly Like an Eagle". I think I could probably do with less of those few notes of that Eastern sounding back beat though. It could get to me. Yeah, it's not a masterpiece of musical genius, but it's fun. There's nothing wrong with having fun with a song. We all remember the 80's (well most of us). The title sucks, yes but I thought that too of "Let your Soul be your Pilot." Then I started to love it (and this) for the reason Sting is a musical genius - his voice, and his lyrics. The song is good, and because we love Sting we will give it the time of day (i.e. listen to it more to give it chance). I'm already grooving to it.
