A fan's music site

Hello list, I have been on this list for the last two years and I have loved it. I have been a fan of The Police/Sting since 1983 when I was all of 9 years old. I also have been influenced by their music which brings me to my next order of business. I am in a band called El Presidente and we, ( or should I say I) have built a webpage to expose us to the world. I would love for you to come and visit it. I have a few of our songs on there to be downloaded. We have done some songs that sound like The Police and we have some that sound like Sting. On the "studio" recordings, I play the guitar, bass, and the drums although I am not the best drummer. Since I love The Police and Sting, the rhythm section sounds a bit lit him. The songs were done before I found a rhythm that I liked. Please come and visit, and I would like to hear from the people who really love the same artists that I do, also to see if Sting could sue me for sounding like him. That castle in the video is Edonan castle I believe. That is one of the most famous castles in Scotland. It's been the setting of scenes from several films (from Monty Python's Holy Grail to Highlander). Teri -- "Stephen S. This is a question probably best answered by you undoubtedly happy blokes in the U.K. (after the soccer win over Argentina). At the end of the Synchronicity II video, as Sting is singing of the "...Scottish Lake....", there is a shot of an island with a castle in the middle of a lake. Does anyone know if this is the castle that he is currently attempting to purchase? If so, there is certainly some synchronicity at work here. Cheers, Stephen S. Sayad

Speculating on Sting's Next Release and Tour

Hello all: The summer concert season is in full force here in Chicago, and wistful memories of the Brand New Day tour have me asking myself when we can expect a new album. Forgive me for speculating, but a North American tour during summer 2003--almost four years after the release of Brand New Day--would require a new release built upon studio work done in late 2002 or early 2003. Here is a bit of news that I found on the net. According to it, you can get the CD through Sting's website. (6/5/02, 7 a.m. ET) -- Sixties singer Lulu has released Together, an album of duets made with a little help from her friends, who include Paul McCartney, Sting, Elton John, and Joe Cocker. Lulu first came to America's attention when her song "To Sir, With Love" skyrocketed to Number One on the pop charts. The song was the title track from the 1967 film of the same name in which she co-starred with Sidney Poitier. Most of the songs featured on Together are covers--some of the highlights include the Beach Boys' classic "Sail On Sailor," sung with Sting; "Inside Thing (Let 'Em In)", a duet with McCartney that incorporates a funky version of Wings' "Let 'Em In"; Peaches & Herb's "Reunited" sung with Cliff Richard; and Bob Seger's "We've Got Tonight," sung with Irish pop singer Ronan Keating. The complete tracklisting for Together includes "Teardrops" with Elton John, "Shame Shame Shame" with Atomic Kitten, "Inside Thing (Let 'Em In)" with Paul McCartney, "We've Got Tonight" with Ronan Keating, "Sail On Sailor" with Sting, "Back At One" with Westlife, "To Sir, With Love" with Samantha Mumba, "With You I'm Born Again" with Marti Pellow, "The Prayer" with Russell Watson, "Reunited" with Cliff Richard, "I'm Back For More" with Bobby Womack, "Now That The Magic Has Gone" with Joe Cocker, "Phunk Phoolin" with Kerphunk, and "Relight My Fire" with Take That. The album was released May 20 in the U.K. but there is not a definite U.S. release date scheduled as yet. However, fans can order the album via Sting's website at sting.com, or via amazon.com.

Dear all, apparently by one way or the other, someone is sending hundreds of mails around using our mail addresses (stingus newsletter, stingus websitemail, etc) on several mailinglists and to several people claiming they want to send you an important file. As far as we know, these e-mails are malicious and contain all virus attachments. Do not open them, except when you see the StingUs signature at the bottom. Furthermore, we NEVER send any attachments, so if you receive a mail with attachments that "seems" to have been sent by us, do not open it. As we have never been infected with a virus, its origin is unknown to us but seems similar to the attacks we received half a year ago. We do NOT imply anything but just want to warn people and to make clear we are NOT responsible for this.
