Ooh, it's alive! Good to see some old names floating through my inbox. I swear I walked around in a daze for a few days when I first heard the news about the split. I'm hoping to go to the UK in June to see one of the not-quite-last English Shows, June 24/25 at Brixton Academy. I really wish I had a Glastonbury ticket, or more vacation time so I could hang around for T in the Park/Oxegen, but I don't. I don't anticipate any stateside shows, and I've been saying for years that I wanted to go to a show in England, so I guess this is pretty much my last chance. Anyway, is anybody planning on going to the Movement Festival (Detroit, May 29-31) or Mutek (Montreal, June 2-6)? I'm deciding between the two, the Movement lineup should be up later today, Mutek has the first live Plastikman show in 9 years... Either way :) Aimee

Yep. It's been a quiet while.. Everyone still there? Trym? Brandon Sinesweeper? Steve?

I still can't quite believe it - i heard it first yesterday here, hadn't been on Loopz for a while (shame!)...

Dito here. If there's a time to travel, it's now...

Any of the Brits here got an idea how to get a Glastonbury ticket? I mean - BESIDES selling your firstborn to shady blackmarket resellers! ;-) Would press accreditation help (not a music mag, but do they really care? ;-)? And most of all: Will there be another pre-show meet-up? Stevie-boy, what's the status?

Yep. If they planned a farewell US-tour, i guess they'd say so... Dee P.S.: When surfing Loopz i noticed to my dismay that i missed loads of mp3-broadcasts of live gigs - did anyone happen to streamcapture these? Or are they even officially available for download somewhere? ;-)

A while, I hope. There's lots to talk about - the split, travel plans, etc.

I asked for the time off over two weeks ago now and I'm *still* waiting for an answer. I think I'm going to send yet another reminder email today. Frustrating! There are plans being made on the Loopz forums for a pre-show meetup on the 25th. For some reason, I can't quite find the thread now but I know there's one floating around. There have also been a few threads put up by people who are travelling for the show(s) about post-show meetups and good places to shop for music and such. I know if I go I'm making a week or two out of it.

The Loopz radio shows? Some of them are floating around on soulseek (www.slsknet.org). Aimee

Seems like it's the best thing to do. They are working on, what?, the 8th album now? The Altogether was a disappointment with some, though I am hopeful with their (now) last album. After 15 years of working, it's about time to either start off fresh in a new direction, or retire out of the music business for good. On that note, what music mailing lists and forums have you guys been hanging around? It's been a while since I've had the chance to discuss the finer points of electronica. Amon Tobin's been a favorite for me now (esp. Supermodified), and I really dig Lamb's and Hybrid's newest albums. -- Brendan Byrd/SineSwiper <SineSwiper@ResonatorSoft.org> Perl hacker, computer wizard, and all-around internet guru Resonator Software <http://www.ResonatorSoft.org/>
