I just saw an exhibition in Seattle called Listening Post and was so impressed that I wanted to spread the word

here is what it was: About one hundred LED screens displaying pieces of thousands of conversations that were happening as we were reading them in chat rooms from people around the world. every time a new line was displayed a different sounding tone would emit from speakers surrounding the screens, creating a strange kind of ambient music. and the lyrics to this music were a computer voice reading parts of the conversations

there were also crazy wave-like flowing effects that were created by the text moving across the hundred or so screens and other deranging other kinds of effects that you just have to see

anyway the exhibit is moving to the Whitney Museum in New York, so I reccomend anyone near that area to go and check it out it's awesome
