Wasn't it that Andy grew tired of the Island fucking around with Cydonia and decided getting on the dole was more attractive than record label buggery?
Wasn't it Andy that LX accused of having a coke problem ("booger sugar") and being the one who "leaked" the pre-release Cydonia CD-Rs ("spy in the camp")?
Cydonia wasn't worth the plastic it was burned to.
Oh, please. Putting aside the fact that I totally disagree with your statement, I definitely think the changes that happened between v2 and the final (i.e., "the Andy edits") were all for the better. I'm not siding with LX & Co. against Andy (especially since Smiley kind of debunked the "Andy's leaking CD-Rs" myth), but I think we definitely need to get over the fact that he's out the band. What's he done lately, anyway? As much as I like the stuff he did with the Orb, I'd much rather listen to the Orb's post-Andy output than Andy's post-Orb output, if I had to choose... JG np: Doormouse - the album?

Please. Having met Andy several times, I can tell that he's a down to earth guy. He's not the one who put all these references to drugs on the tracks. Example : on the LX/System 7 collaboration, there's a sample : How do you sniff ? Very well thank you...

Everybody has its opinion. But except for the Semisonic and the Another Fine day ones, I'm REALLY disappointed on the last remixes they did without Andy. And sorry, but I'm not really into the BadOrb releases so far...

I'm sure he'll do some great stuffs on his own in the future. And I also hope that the next Orb album will be GREAT. Have a nice week end. JCFromParis --

I never heard this, and I dunno what sort of sordid past there might be, but there's absolutely *No Way* Andy has a coke problem - he's a very dedicated father and AFAIK doesn't even touch weed anymore. to echo JC's sentiments, he's a very together and down to earth guy.

having heard Andy's live set post-orb (which included some Cydonia-esque moments), it helped me decipher what contributions to the Orb he made... he definitely seemed to have a gift for remixes, and really helped add that harder edge to hings, which i do miss. that said, i'm looking forward to hearing a "purer" release of new orb stuff (vs an album which was stripped of certain contributions, remixed 3 or 4 times, and released years after it was recorded)

i think we're "over it", but as far as i'm concerned, he's still just as related to the orb as Ssytem 7 is... and this would be the only "in the know" source i could think of to try and track his progress. happy weekend! =) rachel ______________________ Rachel's Shrine to The Orb: http://www.migoto.com/orb

I wonder about that, because it seems that the album floated around Island for a year, and who knows how many hands it passed through. Then again, we got that big find of 92-94 soundboards, demos, etc. that had to come from a leak somewhere. And it involved a decent sized hunk of money... When LX mentioned to me about the unfinished Cydonia was circling the net, he cited that as being a loss of income & interest for the band, and was very bitter about it. I personally prefer the final, UK Cydonia. It took several listenings (and a full US Tour) before I realized its true merits. Gavin __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
