Anybody else have stories about coming to the Orb via post-punk and the '80s college/indie scene?

Not consciously....just cos it was other good music around at roughly the same time as Stones Roses etc etc. I think AHEGPB was #1 in the "indie" or dance charts in the NME for about 2 years [or so it seemed]...anyhow that's how I got into 'em. Bought it, played it, fucked off. Was it me or was there loads of good music around at that time? Dance music or whatever you want to call it was splitting off in a million directions at once, you had the likes of the Roses, Mondays and all that mallarkey going on...plus hip hop or whatever was getting better and better.
