Hey Orbsters! Ok, I've given it a listen to, and like Smiley, I'm reserving judgement til I've given it several listens, but here's my first impressions: - I love "From A distance", despite how unpopular that's going to make me on this list... its up-beat, happy, layered sound that gets me movin. Who cares about the dumb lyrics - you can hardly understand it anyway! I think its fun, and definitely has that KLF influence. - Gee Strings is one of the worst songs I've ever heard by anyone, Orb or not. Where did this horrible, bland house come from, and why doesn't it die? It was bad enough on the Kompassion EP, and this "remix" is no better. blegh. - Prime Evil has some really nice bass elements in it - yummy! Go Simon! - Orb Is sounds the most like "classic orb" to me - its got a good dubby beat, with trippy samples on top, and a nice flow. I've been too distracted by work to properly digest the rest of the tracks individually... Anyone else have some thoughts? Overall, its pretty Orby, with distorted samples, a good mix of upbeat and more ambient/dubby tracks... =) rachel ------------------------------------ Rachel's Orb Discography http://www.backsideoftheorb.com

I don't think the rest of us are so lucky as to have it yet. :( What did it cost you, if I may be so bold, to have it shipped so quickly from Japan? e __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Calendar - Free online calendar with sync to Outlook(TM). http://calendar.yahoo.com
i pre-ordered it, and i think they use FedEx shipping by default for US orders, so it got here quickly. (i didn't upgrade it or anything). i don't know what the conversion is - i didn't bother to look. i just knew i had to have it! =) On Thursday, June 12, 2003, at 01:35 PM, RadiOrb-Not just for Christmas wrote:

So, to satisfy my morbid sense of curiosity I went through the process of setting up the order and converting the Yen and it works out to about $50 Canadian or $38 US so I might just have to wait for a domestic release even if HMV doesn't have a release date yet for it:-( Andrew "It's like something from another planet" LX Paterson -----Original Message----- From: orb-bounces@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:orb-bounces@mailman.xmission.com]On Behalf Of RadiOrb-Not just for Christmas Sent: June 12, 2003 4:35 PM To: What were the skies like when you were young?
