I get the general feeling on this forum that the new orb album has not been received very well....is that the case? For what it's worth, I thought it was far better than cydonia. Personally while I thought the UK version of B&T was FAR better than the Japanese version, neither tops Cydonia. I'd rate the Japanese version a 5, UK version a 7, and Cydonia 7.5 (or maybe 7.75, but that may be taking the whole ratings thing a bit too far).

It is the opposite for me, I like the Japanese version more, but that may just be because that version has been glued into my brains. Of course From A Distance and Kompania are far better in the UK version, but Aftermath with its stupid Pass The Dutchie treatment has ruined the record far more than the original From A Distance did. And for Abstractions and Tower Twenty Three, the new versions are about as good, or as average, as the originals so I stick to the Japanese ones. If something is better on the UK album it is the follow-up of the tracks, Dilmun was rather an useless coda on BTJap, but on BTuk it follows the flow nicely. Dilmun still is a haunting track, I find, and one that could have been elaborated a bit... So Japs are leading 7,2 - 6,8 against the British... ...and I think both BT's are far better than Cydonia.
