So quiet. Nothing going on these days? Any new Orb spottings? -- Brian
Yeah, no shit. Well, lessee...most interesting thing I can think of, musically speaking, is I Netflixed "Classic Albums: Steely Dan - Aja" documentary. Wow. Watch this if you like music. It is nuts...between B/F smartass dry humor (expected) and jaw-dropping session musicians' interviews (they'll play something, explaining what went on in the studio/with their part etc)(unexpected), it's one of the coolest things I've seen in awhile. I think BB being the only new thing from the Orb in awhile and its resemblance to Okie Dokie probably has a lot to do with list silence.... T

I like BB way more than Okie Dokie! As long as we're recommending movies (that Steely Dan one is great), you guys should check out the BBC4 Documentary "Krautrock: The Rebirth of Germany." Fascinating, and you wouldn't have the Orb if it weren't for bands like Cluster and Can! There's also a BBC4 doc on British Synthpop (80s) that goes over a lot of 80s electronics acts. I haven't got through all of it yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Orb were mentioned near the end. Oh yeah, and there's a good doc analyzing Pink Floyd's Meddle album, and the only other bands mentioned in the doc are The Orb and King Crimson (2 of my faves!). The Mikey Dread album is African Anthem. I think he also sampled a few things from The Upsetter's Blackboard Jungle Dub. Both are quality dub albums. One of my alltime favorite dub albums is Pick-a-Dub by Keith Hudson.

So quiet. Nothing going on these days? Any new Orb spottings? -- Brian
