5 am right now, just got back home This was the 5th time I saw LX headline as a DJ, and was BY FAR the BEST set I've ever heard him spin! OMFG did I ever dance my ass off- 2 1/2 hours non-stop. All of those listees within easy travelling distance from the San Fran gig it's totally worth going. First off, LX is only doing these 2 dates this time around. He's rendez vous-ing with Meat Beat Manifesto out there too, but didn't specify if it was purely social or anything more. He also told m there's a new project in the works, the name escapes me now, but it begind with "Root" and is a collaboration with Nina Walsh of Sabre X. He also is about to become a dad for the 2nd time, this time to a son. As for the music.... LX showed me the discs prior to starting his set. over a dozen of unreleased sessions/remixes and mash ups, along with the forthcoming Orb album which is yet untitled, but does have cover art. He opened his set with an unreleased mix of Oxbow Lakes, played SEVERAL unreleased mixes off of UF Orb and Orbvs Terrarvm, the finished Freebird, some new Orb tracks and Transit Kings stuff... unFriggin' believable. all night I was grinning from ear to ear, and couldn't stop moving. YOU ALL MUST DROP YOUR PLANS AND GO TO SAN FRAN TONIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Gavin __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! I definitely second Gavin's email. Alex spun amazing tracks this morning, and it blew my mind. Freebird sounds amazing now that it's finished. Alex played the first 7 or 8 minutes of Blue Room, and some girl commented, "Play some music already!" I just laughed. It was utterly the best DJ set I've ever heard Alex throw down. There were bits and pieces of Blue Room, Towers of Dub, Majestic, Little Fluffy Remix, a couple Transit Kings tracks (I remember Living in a Giant Candle... West End of a Duck Going East... a couple others), Freebird (obviously), and a couple new tracks that are just SLAMMING good. As always, Alex was a stand-up guy and treated all his fans most respectfully. All in all, a most memorable night!! Go if you can, folks. -brian
