My Breezeblock tracklisting/trackmarks
Hey everyone, Okay I know this has been beaten to death, but I thought I would just share with everyone the breakdown of tracks/times I used when adding trackmarks. 01 - The Orb - Hamlet Of Kings and Intro 4:23 02 - The Orb - EDM 10:06 03 - Creature - Cuba 6:43 04 - Junkie Xl - A Little Less Conversation 05 - FFWD - Drone 0:42 06 - Schem - The Lost Woods of Timber 3:29 (Not 100% sure on the name of this track, but its the same as track 4 on bob4.5) 07 - S.E. Berlin - Shuttle 5:02 08 - Electric Chairs - Barbie Girl (blastiquer mix by s.e. berlin) 3:37 09 - U2 - Deaf and Dumb (orb remix) 9:35 10 - The Orb - S.A.L.T 9:20 11 - The Chordettes - Mr Sandman 2:21 This is a listing of the actual songs, doesn't include things like John Carpenters dark star or other ones that were just samples used in the tracks.. Also the Mr Sandman track was listed as John Carpenter, I'm guessing because it was on the Halloween II soundtrack, but its performed by the chordettes. Also track 7 seems to be titled shuffle on most, but its suppose to be shuttle isn't it? Anyways thats the last I'll speak of it (unless you want to point out I'm wrong somewhere with this listing) :) later lance
What did you use to add track marks? I just converted the mp3 to wav, then used soundforge to cut out the tracks. Right now I just have the tracks in wav format, I tried using LAME to convert them back to mp3, but everytime I did LAME seems to add 500 or so frames of silence (like .5 sec) to the start of each track, so there is a tiny pause between tracks :( Anyone know anything about converting to mp3? Is there a way so it won't add this silence at the start? lance ----- Original Message ----- From: "RMStringer" <rmstringer@netnitco.net> To: <orb@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: July 28, 2002 12:13 PM Subject: RE: [Orb] My Breezeblock tracklisting/trackmarks What did you use to add track marks? yeah actually, that is a problem with the mp3 format itself. From what I understand, there is no way to prevent that, which is why people have created gapless plugins for mp3 players. on the http://www.r3mix.net (I think) page, they tell about all there is to know about mp3's (use lame with the --r3mix switch) and they warn about ripping live cd's because of that blip between tracks. They suggest ripping the entire cd as one track, and encoding *that* track to mp3. but for an audio disc, I'd put the tracks in and burn it. -ben (28 days till burning man!)
Thanks for the info and site ben, it explains exactly whats happening to me.. My plan now is to just burn it on to CD from the uncompressed wavs. So I guess if I want to do this on any other live mixes I'll have to use the same procedure, convert to wav, insert trackmarks, and then burn to cd. lance ----- Original Message ----- From: "Chromatest J. well you'd have to do that anyhow wouldn't you? unless you want to burn an mp3 disc, and in that case, leave it as one file... that's what I do.. fit 8 74 minute mix sessions per cdr.
