i agree , red worm is a poor track but track 3 (outer space?) sounds great! the europhen remix of centuries is also on the xfm show mix! who knows it could be part of what badorb are offering free with 10 sales of the new single! as far as i know alex has said that a new album will be out in september. anyone out there got any soundboard recordings of the shows from last year for sale or trade or download? ----- Original Message ----- From: <orb-request@mailman.xmission.com> To: <orb@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Saturday, April 13, 2002 1:29 PM Subject: Orb digest, Vol 1 #131 - 7 msgs

Orb uses a bad sci-fi movie in their 11-01-01 Thursday Teatime. David Holmes also used this on one of his albums.
Anyone know the name of the movie?
John Carpenter's Dark Star (his first movie). Co-written by and starring Dan O'Bannon, who went on to co-write the first Alien movie.
More info at: http://us.imdb.com/Title?0069945
Priceless.
JG
PS - I think Holmes used "the planet just exploded, sir" on "Smoked Oak" or one of the b-sides from "No Man's Land," but I could be wrong...

Man, I must live in an anti-orb cave. That I know no one in person that shares my enthusiasm for the orb. I have some access to other resources, but where on the web can I look? I recently learned about Thursday Teatime. Anything like that out there?

i was just a little disappointed that it happened to be that track. red worm has been floating around for quite some time and was actually played on a radio show some time ago (maybe a year or so ago?) i, myself, was hoping for some NEW orb material. the other tracks aren't that bad, but i don't think they're that great, either. I'd love to see more energy of what went into cydonia and orblivion, especially a track like toxygene, edm, mllol, promis, etc.
are there plans for a full-length release?
anyone know of a eurofen mix of centuries? it's the only track on the badorb 40min promo i've yet to hear as a release.

Yes, very true - the new Orb single was supposed to have come out on CD as well...
So, are we ordering the 12" single, or the CD single?
BTW, just received that Denez Prigent CD with the version of 'EDM' on it - absolutely superb - well worth tracking down/downloading (delete as applicable)!
l8rs,
Nick ;-)
i'm assuming the new orb is coming on vinyl, but it doesn't actually
seem
to say anywhere... wasn't this also supposed to be available on cd? anyone found any hidden granules of wisdom spattered throughout the site?
=) rachel
