i agreee here totally the released "official" version of mile long lump of lard was much far better then tha nasty distorted thing on the early CDR versions. also to these people knocking cydonia all together, did any of you guys go see the orb on the cydonia tour, i mean i had a similar opinion as you guys did when i just listened to the album, but when i saw them play these songs live, it really brought it all together for me, and i 'understood' where LX was at with his music and what he was trying to do. i mean the maritime hall show in san fran was one of the best orb shows ever IMO (USA). of course i didnt have the pleasure of hearing much prior to 1994 but thats many years between 94 and 2001 and many orb shows played (in the USA). i think hearing the cydonia tracks played live was what really got me to respect that album and what LX was trying to do at that point with "The Orb". EDM was really one of my favorite tracks also (excluding Terminus of course). that show left me flying and renforced my rescpect in LX for years to come. is anybody with me, i mean, didnt anyone else get that feeling after the cydonia tour? it was like the album really made sense after the show, and all i could do was crave to hear what was to come next from this, at the time, pie in the sky new foriegn badorb.com label thing that was to come. i am very pleased with the progress and the musical releases that have been provided. I like the way LX and co. cleaned it up so we could actually hear the samples instead of a big wall of distortion. Sure it could have been longer, but after hearing it live (which was based on the "official" version) I'll always think of the track as a great way to start a show. BTW Orblivion is my third favorite Orb album behind Ultraworld and U.F. Orb, I thought it was a remarkable return to form. Cydonia is definitely uneven but has several outstanding tracks that make it worth owning, i.e. Promis, Terminus, and Thursday's Keeper. Jason >>
