cont'd My house will appreciate in value for several reasons but I live in the hood. Before I lived here I lived in Savannah, Georgia (which is one big hood), and in New Orleans (where you're always at most five blocks from the hood) so I think I'm pretty well acquainted with that of which I'm speaking. Anyone who denies its existance is a fool, plain and simple. If you don't believe it I invite you to come hang out here for a few days. Go walk five blocks east of here and then come back. Do that every day. If nobody tries to sell you crack and/or kill you I'll give you a hundred bucks. It's no better in the poor, white neighborhoods but it's got a whole different flavor. I bet I could talk about the gap-toothed rednecks all day and you'd never call me a racist but the gap-toothed rednecks are a subculture just like ghetto blacks are a subculture. The gap-toothed rednecks are mostly poor, of Irish decent, inbred, and smelly. They also tend to be overweight, drive their oil burning pickup truck without a seatbelt on, smoke too much, binge drink, beat their wives, neglect their children, and forget to feed their dogs. They snort crank, shoot each other, and wreck their cars in particularly lethal and amazing ways. I've seen it. Don't deny it. They exist in droves, just like the brothers with the glocks selling rocks down the block. I guess it's easier not to see.
