The Corporal would be fine for his songs, but if he's throwing down over Little Fluffy Clouds, then it changes the atmosphere completely. Personally....living in Texas, far far away from the UK and Europe, I would still like to see a full blown Orb tour here close to me. I thought we might get one with 'The Dream', but it didn't happen. I want LX, Youth, Thomas, Tim Bran, Steve Hillage; maybe Miquette as well... a proper Orb tour with System 7 opening. If you could get Jah Wobble and/or David Gilmour involved, think of the halls they would fill....even here in America. Peace - out Michael T.
If it's any comfort, I saw both the Terrarvm and Orblivion tours in Dallas. Sadly, the latter was where they -opened- for the Chemical Bras. and so the place was full of frat fucks, etc. Hardly any dancing occurred during the Orb - not possible with everyone standing there watching the Bras. bob to the DAT. Not on the beat, necessarily, IIRC. But the Orb show itself was great. Happily, the Terrarvm show was mind-blowing. I greatly enjoyed meeting LX at a DJ gig a bit after that and telling him how much I thought Terrarvm and the show both totally rocked.... So...I think Texas might have a chance? Denver, where I ended up? Yeah...hrm. Let's say they do 8-10 dates - NY, DC, Chicago, SF, LA, maybe Seattle - ok then what? Portland maybe, maybe St Louis, maybe Dallas (or Austin, I bet that would be good crowd) gets squz in? If they do like 3 US dates, on the other hand, I'd guess anyone not in NY, SF, LA is hosed.... T "Fuck you, we're from Texas." - stamp on white label versions of South Side Reverb "Reverberation Remixes" 2X12 (no I don't have it, only saw it unfortunately) "We're from Texas; it's beautiful." - The Grid, Texas Cowboys (not sure of sample source, if it is a sample) -----Original Message----- From: orb-bounces@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:orb-bounces@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of Michael Thomas Sent: Thursday, January 06, 2011 2:16 AM To: What were the skies like when you were young? Not sure if this is a slam on Soom T but I wanted to chime in and say I wasn't crazy about her work with the Orb but love her stuff on the Jahtari label. I just ordered a new 2xLP with her and Disrupt called "Ode to a Carrot". Jahtari is good shit if you like crazy reggae-ish, 8-bit, dubby kinda music. -matt
I saw them in DC at the 930pm Club back in 2006 if i remember correctly. Good live show with Free Bird in the mix. On Wed, Jan 5, 2011 at 3:11 PM, m j <m111j@hotmail.com> wrote:

Thank you for your "articulate announcements."* Many people who MC and/or sing live are perfectly capable of being a) in key, b) on time. The videos I've seen, Mr. Corporal (I believe it's actually "Corpral" or similar, possibly spelled with a "k") fails utterly at both (I'm pretty sure he was often not just not on the beat, but not on the phrase either, just all over the place). Like I say, I like the songs on record, so hearing these butchered live would really be a disappointment. T * King Crimson, "Elephant Talk"

True, these days the translation may become lost in the mix... maybe it could be funnier if Lx could mic up the crowd & hear the negative piggy comments. The Corporal will hopefully continue to hold it down to the ground & shake it down low & turn it up to 11. So please support Lx's Orb live MC tour givings. If you'd rather have booth MC Soom T or MC Dynamax now send them an e'mail or just continue with what you do you're already doing it too what just what you saying again bro there seems to be a pattern?
Jay Z & P Diddy need to all start to go door to door telling the white folks who are actually related to black folks about a round tree family tree, now that would'nt that be punky you punks? love Joseph Samuel Hannah
I am with you at that point Tim. I was wondering how many people "like" this guy, with all respect..

While I refuse to get hopes up at this point after the last couple of tour non-materializations etc, one thing I can say...PLEASE leave the rapper/MC guy home...YouTube videos of that guy are (unfortunately, I like the treatment on >From a Distance, similar stuff on The Dream) pretty godawful....
That said, come on LX...tho of course I'm not in SF anymore so wondering how far I might have to go....

Saturday April 23rd at IndigO2 in London (with 808 State DJ's supporting) - dunno whether it's a live or DJ set, however?
They played two shows in December - in London and Manchester - I couldn't get to the London one due to the snow, but apparently it was in support of the Metallic Spheres album? Did anyone go to this???
Cheers,
Nick
