Can someone upload all BOB's, Cydonia 3.0 and Pink Floyd Trance Remixes that can be found on RMStringer FTP on any other FTP??? (i.e. OAA, Chain Reaction or Moresounds) I've got terrible slow connection with his FTP and I can only imagine about downloading anything. If you want the addresses, contact me privately. Thanks in advance!! -- == gry dodawane do czasopism ================ http://www.markolf.fr.pl == == http://members.tripod.com/markolf === fluke & voo voo discographies ==
is the list freely sharing material that is still available? (BOBS) I thought there was a pretty stiff rule about not sharing out material unless it was out of print or just plain unavailable. I have the Cydonia and Pink floyd mixes though, and would be happy to upld them to RMStringer's site if he doesn't have them already...

Umm...BadOrb is selling the mp3s. Making them available on an ftp is in *extremely* poor taste. Bogarting sales for currently available product is not exactly the action of a fan... Chris
Perhaps you didn't quite get that last one...?

Yeah...I got it. "Asking" for it, even obliquely, is uncool. Being willing to host it is uncool. Indeed, the mere fact that he is apparently "archiving" them publicly is uncool...it encourages others not to patronize BadOrb, since they know they can just download them at their leisure. There are lots of reasons to be unhappy with BadOrb, but there is no reason to be bogarting their customers. BadOrb is a new venture, with a lot of potential (even if the road has been a bit bumpy so far); indeed, it may even be the Orb's new home...doing stuff that has the potential to hurt their sales like this is not the action of a fan. Needless to say; the above is my opinion, YMMV, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, etc, etc.; and this is not an invitation to flame. Chris

I think most of the people that use his ftp server, are people on this list, and similar lists. I think that the vast majority of these people (us) are going to buy from badorb even if badorb had free mp3's of the tracks, and if we wouldn't, having the free downloads couldn't further discourage a purchase. On the other hand, I think mr stringer should buy the badorbs himself... Like bi11ie said, it was a mistake to share the "personal" mp3 files, perhaps this is the same thing that rmstringer is doing too. It's his computer, he no doubt plays the mp3s from the location that the ftp server sees, so why shouldn't he have the music that he wants to hear there? Of course again, he could go through and make all the "in-print" stuff invisible and/or otherwise block it from the FTP, but if other people can't be arsed to do this, why should he? either way you look at it, I won't be downloading any badorb stuff from his ftp, but I *will* download other stuff. He uploads stuff to my server as well, and I send stuff to him. It's a community, if you don't want to d/l then don't.
No one has said anything until now. I have a lot of stuff that is "In Print" and "Out Of Print" Most of the KLF stuff on my site is "Out OF Print" Most of the 80's Industrial is "Out OF Print" SO What. People get music from me and trade with me. I put no restrictions such as the aforementioned titles. Most of the Trance is "In Print" Who Cares. IT is my private site and I will do with it as I please. RMStringer __________________________________________________ Warning: You are no longer who you were and tomorrow is now yesterday.
