i agree with the sentiment that the pre-1994 work has flow and continuity that slowly deterriorates with each album after uforb. orbus t is still excellent in my mind and orblivion is just a notch below orbus t.

cydonia is somewhat of a disaster, highlighted by once more. that said, i really enjoy the cydonia demo - does not seem that far off from orblivion (once more aside again.)

i hate to pile onto once more but that track is unlistenable to me. it is a perfect example of a video perfectly matching the song - both are horrible disasters. i have to think the video was a joke but i think lx was the only one laughing.

bike and trikes is a slight step up from the release version cydonia but is very hit and miss. aftermath is a big miss for me - almost (butnot quite) on par with once more.

i think the evolution of their music is defined by their movement away from cohesive albums where all the tracks appear to be arranged with concept and flow in mind and to track oriented albums. the latter albums (i think beginning with orblivion but most evident on cydonia and b&T) are just all over the place. not that their earlier stuff was not different from one track to the next but the albums did a much better job of putting it all together.

i think this is also demonstrated with the evolution of their live sets. but that is another post.
