in one message you say they grabbed them from your ftp site, the next message you say that it's your private, and that nobody had access to it (publicly)
and this is what I say... "WHO CARES??"
<snip> This argument has been gone over and over and over on this list. In the end, as much as there are those of us who would like to see that every FTP site run on the net has only material that is not in print, there are people (even those souls who are already on our beloved orb list) who don't care, and will make available in print stuff anyways. We debate and debate whether people's private sites should have OOP orb stuff or ANY orb stuff, and in the end that decision is up to the person who runs the site, as morally reprehensible as that may seem to some of you. We can beg and request that ops of such sites don't allow in print material to reside on them, but in the end we can't stop them. So whats the moral of this story? SYSOPS MUST POLICE THEMSELVES! If someone agrees with what appears to be the majority of the list that its in bad taste to have in print material, then they will limit the stuff on their FTP site or whatever accordingly. But if you find something on someone's FTP site, starting a discussion in the list about whether or not that stuff should be there is POINTLESS as it will not change what people decide to host from their machines. Personally, I think its awful that any orb fan would allow material to be downloaded that could otherwise be purchased from tower. I also think that its perfectly acceptable that OOP material should be made available to the poor souls who weren't lucky enough to get copies when it came out. I also don't go around telling people what they should and should not host on their websites. You know why? Because I know that no matter what I say, if someone wants to have a copy of UFOrb in MP3 on their FTP site, they're gonna do it! Can we now PLEASE consider this matter closed!? :)
