From an interview in Future Music magazine (or was it Computer Music?), they said they wanted to release it under the FSOL name, but the record company thought that it would hurt sales because it didn't fit in with past FSOL releases.
Anyway, record label games aside, I absolutely love this album and I think it's damn near brilliant. This is one of those albums that I was unsure of at first but quickly got better by every listen. My sole has needed this kind of music for a long time but I was too stubborn to realize it. Crap, I cry nearly every time I hear "Divinity". That's how close it hits home. -----Original Message----- From: orb-admin@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:orb-admin@mailman.xmission.com]On Behalf Of P J Kane Sent: Monday, October 14, 2002 3:31 PM To: orb@mailman.xmission.com Subject: Re: [Orb] Future Sound of London: "The Isness" well, i like it. but i like old Pink Floyd so, this isn't that much of a stretch. and i read on their website that the good ole USA is the ONLY place where this is listed as an FSOL release. they wanted to release it under a different name, but their US label told 'em "No, it won't sell if it doesn't have FSOL on it..." so, here we get it released as such. i think in the UK it is listed as an "Amorphous Androgynous" release. anyway, they know that this isn't what we expected (hence the naming issues) and do plan a proper FSOL release next year... check out the website listed on the CD sleeve....
