Wasn't it that Andy grew tired of the Island fucking around with Cydonia and decided getting on the dole was more attractive than record label buggery?
Wasn't it Andy that LX accused of having a coke problem ("booger sugar") and being the one who "leaked" the pre-release Cydonia CD-Rs ("spy in the camp")?
Please. Having met Andy several times, I can tell that he's a down to earth guy. He's not the one who put all these references to drugs on the tracks. Example : on the LX/System 7 collaboration, there's a sample : How do you sniff ? Very well thank you...
Cydonia wasn't worth the plastic it was burned to.
Oh, please. Putting aside the fact that I totally disagree with your statement, I definitely think the changes that happened between v2 and the final (i.e., "the Andy edits") were all for the better.
Everybody has its opinion. But except for the Semisonic and the Another Fine day ones, I'm REALLY disappointed on the last remixes they did without Andy. And sorry, but I'm not really into the BadOrb releases so far...
I'm not siding with LX & Co. against Andy (especially since Smiley kind of debunked the "Andy's leaking CD-Rs" myth), but I think we definitely need to get over the fact that he's out the band.
What's he done lately, anyway? As much as I like the stuff he did with the Orb, I'd much rather listen to the Orb's post-Andy output than Andy's post-Orb output, if I had to choose...
I'm sure he'll do some great stuffs on his own in the future. And I also hope that the next Orb album will be GREAT. Have a nice week end. JCFromParis --
