Here are a handful of questions I've been trying to find answers to for some time. Maybe you guys know anything about it and can help:
1. I got VERY lucky and managed to buy Ultraworld 2xLP Test pressings in brown vinyl some time ago. I'm trying to find out if they were meant for promo but I haven't found anything or if they actuaklly are only for test pressing purposes. The LP's came with full sleeves and everything but I had never heard of coloured vinyl being issued. Anyone know what the deal is with this set?
2. At the same time, I picked up a blue vinyl 1xLP Aubrey Excursions. Same questions apply here. I have never seen any documentation on the discs being issued in colour instead of black vinyl. Help?
Heh. If you got them from eBay, those were some seriously inflated prices...I have my doubts about their authenticity, but couldn't prove anything either way, although I do find it interesting that a bunch of colored-vinyl rarites that no-one had ever seen before popped up at once. (Brown ABtU, Blue Aubrey, Bronze Assassin) In any case, they are nifty collectibles. (And BTW, he means a blue vinyl version of the original Aubrey Mixes...a dark blue, as opposed to the tourquoise/aqua of the Auntie Aubrey's vinyl.)
3. Bytesize Nuns/ Codpiece: I grabbed the mp3's from the mp3 project issued discs and am loving this release. Anyone have any info on when it was released, what label, and all the usual necessary info so I can scour the earth to find an official copy? Also, does some fortunate soul actually have a scan of the sleeve? I know the Trouser Torpedo mix was issued on TEX4 and the Paterson/Emmerson discs. Does anyone know if the remix was an exclusive or if it too was released on 12"?
Three versions of this track have been released...you know about Codpiece; Cocksville USA was on an Axiom compilation, and Occidental...well, you know. The released versions all seem to be edits of the mixes from the mp3 project. Chris np: Brian Eno - Ambient 1 / Music For Airports
